I am a permanent researcher at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and lead a Joint International Lab between the University of Colorado in the USA and the CNRS.
My research combines unique models and paradigms set in extreme environments and in real life to understand the physiopathology of sedentary behaviors and physical inactivity. Using extreme environments, I attempt to characterize underlying mechanisms. Studies conducted in the real life aim to compare and contrast results observed in extreme conditions. I employ a sophisticated approach of integrative physiology studying the metabolic responses to different levels of activity from the whole-body level to the organ, cell, protein and gene levels.
